7Zap Parts diagram help

Featured Replies

Evening All,

I have a split boost hose on my 2007 BMM 4x4 - the first hose from the turbo towards the intercooler.

Looking at the 7zap site for part nos I'm being a bit thick and can;t decide whether I need item 7 or item 13...  can any one confirm please as they are slightly different on one letter different and I have a feeling the diagram is a mirror image of reality:

My gut says item 7 but the image suggests 13 if reversed...

Look at the part on the car, see if there is a part number visible on it. (Almost certainly easier said from this sofa than done in practice).

Failing that, look at the next hose that it connects to on the way to the intercooler and compare its resemblance to items 11 or 6.

13 is the one that goes into the turbo, 7 goes onto the throttle body.

Oh **** I'm even more confused now...   I've just been out with a torch and parts 9,11 and 13 resemble those going to the EGR and Throttle body.

Parts 7, 6 and 4 resemble those from the turbo to the intercooler.

I'm therefore thinking I need a 7 but @Tech1e says 13????

I thought 7 initially but then somehow managed to convince myself the image was reversed as it's completely different to the BMM in a 4x4...   Looking from the front of the car the pipe goes from the turbo and snakes down to the bottom right of the intercooler and out of the top left of he intercooler horizontally back to the throttle body.  So using @Wino logic it's Item 7

I'm therefore pretty convinced now it's 7 I want...   No sign of part nos as the hose is covered in oil and carbon from the split (as is half the back of the engine compartment) but cleaning it up a bit I can see it's red - which matches those coming up in a search for item 7 ending in K.

Search for item 13 and it looks like the hose going to the throttle body and they are all black...

So 7...   (I think?) - 3C0145828K

I’m 99.9% sure that’s not the right diagram for a BMM. But looking on a phone which isn’t the best.

BMM is a different layout:

exactly, that’s not the diagram you are looking at. However the EKTA diagrams are the same between the BKC/BXE and the BMM and BMN, with caveats. So the diagram doesn't represent your engine exactly. It even says on the part descriptions to match the numbers with the OE part.

Apologies for inadvertently muddying the waters. Listen to Tech1e. :)

Take the one off the TB and see if there's a part number on that. Then get the other number. :D

Yep that's the one as far as I can tell and seems to be the one linked as part no 7 ending in K...

Brill thanks!!!

loads on eBay. And you are right, rather than make a new diagram they have flipped it. To me it would have made more sense to keep the pipes in their functional positions. So the turbo outlet is the turbo outlet.

Now why didnt i think of that..   Too obvious for words and a process of elimination

Well I finally got the part and fixed it this morning.

Doable from above provided you remove the Flexi pipe from the MAF to the egr and have small hands.  Still a bit of a bugger though as the clip for the turbo end needs to be removed from underneath and your effectively working blind.

For those doing it themselves I'd recommend putting the turbo end on first and, once on, putting the clip on the boost pipe and then levering each side of it onto the connector on the turbo, as opposed to trying to fit the clip into the groove in the connector.  Once that's on a bit of oil smeared on the hard pipe and inside the boost pipe makes it easier to push on and get positioned before fitting the band clamp to hold it all in place.

Either way strong hands and working by feel are needed whilst laying across the engine bay!!
