Not a good start.

Five days into my Skoda ownership and I already have a car that is undriveable.

Just returned from a shopping trip with her-indoors, left the car standing for 5 minutes then return to find a huge oil patch under the car.

Diagnosised by the AA as a knackered seal on the oil filter. The car can't be driven and it looks like I can't get a new filter until tomorrow morning.

Not bad for my 2nd post!:)

Unlucky :thumbdwn: Have you been given a temporary/hire car?

Dave, I should be so lucky. Been on the phone to the dealer already who claim they have nothing with tax on to lend me.

AA bloke has just called back though and says his on his way with a complete replacement filter.

If anyone's near Gordon Lamb Skoda in Chesterfield over the next few days, I'll be the p'ed off person demanding a full valet, engine steam clean and chassis de-oil treatment!

I had something like that on mine a few days after new. It required the oil filter housing to seal to be replaced. Leaked all over my newly laid block paving which Skoda paid for the repairs of.

AA might get you a replacement car.

The AA should get you a car if you're over 5miles (or so) from home...and if any hire car places are open.

VRStu, sounds like you had the exact same problem. The AA guy also pointed out that it's fortunate that I haven't got a block-paved driveway. I'll settle for a free valet, which will be the second one they've done for me in a week (the first when I collected the car).

Dave, funny thing is that I noticed the problem once I'd got home!

Very nice man from AA has been back anyway. Brand new oil filter, seal and cap diagnosed, sourced and fitted in 2 hours on a Bank Holiday.

Mine took 48 hours to fix as they had to wait for the parts.

Ive used the AA twice on my previous car, nothing to complain about at all - got towed back to the dealers and got a hire car on both occasions for 48hrs! Theyre great
