Weird pink headlight

Featured Replies

Couple of issues in this year's MoT. One of which was headlight alignment (both of them). This evening (the first after dark driving since getting the car back), I noticed that one of the headlights turns a pinkish colour after about 15 seconds. It would appear that whilst resetting the alignment, the garage have damaged the bulb/headlight unit in some way.

Has anybody ever experienced this? Could it really have been done when they adjusted the alignment?

Thanks in advance.

Are the headlights Halogen or Xenon (HID)?

Sorry, I meant to say, they are factory-fit Xenons.

In that case it will be a xenon burner on its way out and needing replacement.

Thanks. Could this be caused by adjusting the alignment or is it just a massive coincidence?

With a car of that age I'd guess it's a coincidence.

As above I'd reckon it was simply coincidence

As above you need to replace your bulbs as hid bulbs do go pink with age.

Ok, thanks for your answers.

Headlight tech has moved on a bit since I last bought and fitted a new bulb (amazingly about 20 years ago ).

What would you recommend as replacement items? These are Xenon units as fitted by Skoda (the type where just the dipped beams are Xenon).
