Background lighting

Featured Replies

Hi all, have you ever had any problem with your background lighting. Mine stopped working today on passenger side, all the others works, and also doesn't work in light blue, blue, purple and pink, all the other colours works. The car is still under used car manufacturer warranty, do you think that would be covered?? Any suggestions please, I don't like when something doesn't work properly where it should.

The strip has gone for a burton.  Get it replaced under warranty.

Straight to garage to check it and repair/replace under warranty claim.

I have phoned a dealer and they said without the diagnostic which cost £100 they cannot say anything, they can't say if it's my fault or if it's manufacturer fault and it would be covered by the warranty  So now I have to think about if I want to risk it and hope it's their fault so it could be replaced under warranty or pay £100 just for a diagnostic and the potentially for a labour.

Okay - well if price of a scan (£100 quid just for a quick diagnostics is too expensive) - then you need to find somebody with a VCDS or ODBEleven system near you.  VCDS  owners are shown elsewhere on the forum.  The door module should at least be reporting a fault if it has failed, so that can be reported back to your Skoda dealer - and straight to a warranty repair.

The only person who definitely can assist - will be @SashaGracewho is based in North Wales.  I don't know if that is an option at this time (with lockdown??)
