Dear team,

hope you can help me out. I just got my Superb iV and little bit struggling with the SW. During the registration the car showed there is a SW update, however when I go to Car settings - System information - SW update, it's just an empty black screen, completely empty. I am not sure it installed the latest SW available. Can somebody please post a picture about their SW version in their Superb IV? It's with the new Columbus MIB3, no physical buttons, just touchscreen, no SD, DVD, external sim slots anymore. I think its for all new Superb iV after July 2020 production.

it looks like it will want to do a map update as as far as I can see it is on 19.11 which is very old as it should be at least 20.10 possibly even newer.

I may be wrong but that looks to be a very early version. I would take a look at the VIN to see when that indicates it was  built.

The maps seem to update roughly each month or two.

Thank you John, yeah I thought so it's an old one. When I go to the update portal, insert the VIN, it tells me there are map updates and I should download it onto an SD card to install...but the MIB3 does
not have an SD card slot anymore so it's not a way to go.

As replied to you in PM, my version is 0156 so yours seems like a newer version. When I try to update it just searches for the new update forever.

Calling for help, still if you have a Superb iV, can you post your SW version from Settings-System Information"?

Thank you...interesting that my SW has a higher version (but it's also a different HW), however the navigation and radio versions are much higher.

Anybody with H22 hardware please? Just wondering whether the 19.11 version map is the latest for thos HW or my unit is faulty as it is not offering any update.

MartiniB do I need to unzip and copy the content to the USB drive? Or just go with the zip?

Can't say for particular, but all others must be extracted from zip/7z archive

Thank you...tried the front USB-A port but no luck...just ordered an USB-C stick and will try with that on the port in front of the gearstick

I have tried updating the map using both usb sockets both of which were unsuccessful. My map data is version 20.7 on the same hardware version as you so this may be the reason that it did not try to update via USB. 

That is interesting...so there is an update available....but online update not working and USB-C/A neither...nice

 

Has anyone managed to figure out how to update the maps when there are no SD card slots available?

 

 

337 I believe this should work itself, over the air, as you plan the route. This solution however may prevent you from planning when new location doesn't exist on the old map yet... Moreover, limited connectivity may limit ability to download. Not really sure if this is best solution ever.

Next time I have some time in the car (washing) I may connect it to the home wifi and give it a while -may find some updates or so. I have found few software glitches and Skoda told me that future (undiscolosed) updates should solve those issues.

I have finished conversation with Skoda confirming my above statement. In MIB3 '21 models update happens over the air only, pushed to the head unit by VAG, notification would tell when available.

Please let me know if you have learned anything else.

I have learned that you should only ensure that the system is connected. Update, when available, should be announced by the notification. No, you cannot gain extra functionality buy simple update of the software. Some functions can be turned on via the service software. This is however beyond my abilities. There are gurus here able to advise.

Interesting.. I have absolutely zilch in the way of a mobile signal at the house.

 

I’ve connected it to the home WiFi, might try and just leave it on all day.. see if it pulls something through
