2014 VRS Detachable Towbar: Witter or Westfield??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Looking for a bit of advice. I'm looking at getting a detachable towbar fitted to my 2014 VRS hatchback. I've been given the option of either Witter or Westfalia brand. There isn't much between them price wise and the garage said that they are practically the same towbar. Anyone have any experience of either of the two and which to go for or avoid? (I'm looking for something that isn't noticeable and not big and bulky when it's detached).

Thanks in advance!!

The electrics socket swivels and hides behind bumper when not in use.

not used it much but no problems either. car accepted the coding and gave no issues.

PS: both bolts are accessible without removing the bumper so I treat it as detachable tow bad without the arse of dodgy interfaces that dont wanna click in.....

I went with wesfalia and can’t fault it. That’s the one that the fit from factory I believe

Dont think they are the same as the detachable factory one (its a pig to use) on my Oct 3 looked nothing like the  detachable Westfalia on my Oct 2 that I fitted or A6

I would deffo go for the Westfalia having had 2 of them and additionally I'd got for the dedicated electrics as opposed to generic.
