engine swap, is AZQ compatible with BDE engine?

Featured Replies

Hi,

hope someone can shed some light, I have been googling and could not find defined answer.

My Škodas Fabia MK1 2007 1.2 kw petrol engine (BDE) died and need to replace it, but I cant find engine machining engine number from my car.

what would be compatible engine to swap? I have found one with AZQ near me.

BME engine I think you mean, as BDE seems to be a 2.8L V6?

Which country do you live in?

AZQ will have an EGR valve which yours won't (I think), so you'd have to blank off the port in the head that feeds that, but that wouldn't be very difficult.  Not sure what other differences there are.

Yes , sorry :) BME.

I am from Latvia.

Thanks for quick reply, so if that is only difference seems then only option now.

I can find BME engine in neighbour country, but due corona, all is blocked and If I go and get it I would need to sit in carantive for 14 days :(

Service diagnosed no compression in one of cylinders  0.

mechanic took the engine apart and spotted some metal residues in oil

some part were also worn out.

so all the mechanics I consulted told me it will be cheaper to replace engine.
