Kamiq infotainment screen in cold weather

Featured Replies

When the temperature is cold, below 2degrees, my infotainment screen displays a lot of fuzzy lines over the whole screen and a green dot in the centre at the top. Has anyone else experienced this?

waiting for temperature to drop...then i'll check

Sounds like there is perhaps a leakage with the LCD panel and this is freezing when its cold.  Shouldn't do this so I would get it looked at will probably need a new panel.  Take pictures of if as, sure as fate, when you take it to the garage it won't do it :D

Thanks. I have a good video of it so will get in touch with the dealer.

Can I ask what was the outcome?

I've just bought a 70 plate Kamiq as a used Skoda via an approved dealer, and have discovered that I've got the same issue when the car is cold.

After reading the comments here I made a vide of the problem, and have highlighted it back to the dealership, but with the current lockdown I don't think I've got many options until the weather gets warmer and the issue 'solves' itself till the autumn!

I took it to my Dealer, Westend Skoda Dunfermline, and they carried out some tests which were instructed by Skoda. The outcome is that the head unit is being replaced. I got the impression that this was a new issue to Skoda technical.

OK thanks.

Please post back if the replacement fixes it.

In the meantime I guess I have to try and persuade a local Skoda dealer to help with mine.

You could always try to get him to contact my dealer to discuss what checks they did.
