Electrical problem

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help me with a problem I'm having with my speedo. Door ajar and windscreen washer low level warning lights come on when I  put my headlights on despite all doors closed washers full and working correctly all bulbs checked and working as the should. Not showing any fault codes. Anyone had any experiences like this? Fabia 1.6tdi facelift. Thanks in advance

Not exactly the same issue but had funny things happening on my MKII with speedo and rev counter shooting round to max every time headlights  were turned on, after a few minutes of driving would go back to normal, no faults showing when plugged into laptop even when turning headlights on.  Found  out to be a loose dashboard fixing bolt right hand side of the steering wheel just about where the roof pillar joins the dash , got at it by removing side fuse cover and fuse carrier then could see 2 bolts and there was an earth connected to the one bolt tried to tighten these and one of them with the earth turned twice, had to plug  fuses carrier back in before trying but  seemed to work ok for me don't know if this will help you but worth an hours work to see,  good luck

Thanks for the pointer mate I will give it a go.Nothing ventured nothing gained as they say and probably a lot cheaper than getting the speedo checked by an electronics company. I will let you know how I get on. Cheers

Hey all, well it eventually turned out to be the age old vw problem with the loom in the drivers door to the A pillar being too short and over time with door being opened and closed stretched and broke wires.
