2010 BMW 530d Touring (e61) to 2018 Superb 2.0TDI 190

Featured Replies

Hi

I am new here.

My 530d Touring (2010, last of the e61's) has done over 150K miles and its time for a change.

I am looking at the 190HP spec 2.0 TDI Superb Estate with DSG. I read lots of woes about DQ200 VAG DSG but I think this car would have the "wet" DSG? This car is big for the clutch type surely?

What should I be looking out for (problems)? I see a few options at good price around the 40K miles mark.

What is the service interval?

Timing belt? when does that happen?

2.0 TDI 190 / DSG ... anything else I should know?

Do these cars have DPF issues...? That became a pain on my 530d.

I will be seeing this car through to 100K miles. 4-5 years.

Oh... do these engines use Adblue? Never driven a car that uses that.

Thanks!

Mark

Oh... I also like the look of the Karoq but most of the used ones are 1.5 TSI DSG and I am so scared of all the bad info out there on problems (kangarooing) on that setup that I cannot bring myself to buy one. I worry that all the newish ones available are all nails?

Unreasonable?

Mark

Welcome.

?

What age of Superb are you looking at?

No 2.0 TDI or TSI have DQ200 DSG's.

The DQ200 DSG is only on Skoda models with fwd & 150ps or less, so that includes a Karoq.

The Kangerooing issues should not occur now with a new vehicle, but then it should of not with the ones before now, and VW Group should have them fixed, and they do not have them all sorted.

Welcome Mark,

No, the 190 uses the DQ250 DSG, I have been running a mapped 190 with 505nM (up from 400 nM) for 60K miles without any issues or slipping.

Either every year or up to 2 years / 20K miles

Depends who you talk to, up to 130K miles has been mentioned.

The UK used to have ‘or every 5 years’, this was only ever in the UK though and I have also heard the time has now been dropped... again this depends who you talk to!

Make sure the DSG has been serviced every 40k miles

Depending on the driving you do, but I’ve not had a single issue.

Yes they use adblue, roughly every 9k miles per tank of adblue, the filler cap is next to the fuel filler so fill it when required from the pump, it’s really a non issue IMO.

Depending on budget and age, mine in the classifieds may interest you?
