Grinding noise on full lock

Featured Replies

1.0 115bhp, manual, 70 reg and done 2500 miles.

When on full lock only, if turning right or left going forwards or backwards at crawling pace there is a grinding noise, when the car isn't moving no noise.

Car been to dealer and adjusted heat shield but problem persists, anyone had this issue.

There was a very similar thread in the Seat Arona forum (which uses the same engine and running gear).

The answer seems to be to use silicon spray on the CV joints rubber boots as some of the undulations in the boots just about touch on full lock.   Probably have to tell the dealer this solution, rather than let them do a trial and error of adjustments.

Thanks for the heads up, it sounds more mechanical, but worth a try.

Mine does its the brakes pressure increases slightly on one sided. side that the pipe bends

I thought it was brakes, but dealer tested and said fine, I will rebook car in again.

They are fine its just rubber hose bending creating pressure. To see if it is apply a bit of brake. The brakes are a new design
