Collection Day

Featured Replies

Evening All, after what seems like an eternity, I'm due to pick up my new Karoq SE L this Tuesday! You've probably read my other ramblings on other posts but the time to collect is nearly upon me!! I did test-drive but on 18s, so still a bit weary about ride quality on what will be 19s..!! That said, moving across from a Golf (Mk 7) R, so there will be a few subtle differences I'm sure lol!!

My new Karoq is Metallic Black, Heated windscreen, VC, Family Pack, Traffic Sign Recognition, and SSS wheel!

Probably a bit off-piste here, but do dealers expect p/x cars (my R) to have all mats present? Something and nothing but I've had rubber mats in now for 4 years, ie. the standard carpet mats are completely unused and I'm loathed to just hand them over to dealer free lol!!

Just hand it back with the rubber mats and sell the others.

Yeah, was thinking that, I was the 2nd owner tbh officially as pre-registered, but just wondered what any legal implications are lol!?

As for cleaning exterior of my R, not really possible atm.. :(

The dealer won't care at all - don't start worrying as there's nothing at all to worry about.

They would probably throw the mats away so they can sell a new set to the new owner.

I'll do the decent thing and leave the tears on lol, which tbf are also in mint condition..

My dealer only looked at my Golf from the outside when he valued it, and only seemed to check for scratches and dents and mileage when I P/Xd it.

But it was 6 1/2 years old so I'm pretty sure he was just shifting it on to another dealer or auction house anyway!

Yes, I think they just shift it off to an auction house! The dealer is in Tier 4 (I'm in Tier 3), only 11 miles away, daft I know, so can't imagine they'll even look inside, never mind examine everything!!

I will miss the R, that's for sure, but time to act my 48 years now lol!!

And there am I at 74, going from a Golf SV SE to a Karoq Sportline! You're as old as you feel! (But I gave up my Octavia for a Golf Plus because I found the extra height of the seats easier on my back and legs!)

I think you may find there is little market for carpet mats, whenever I look for rubber mats on ebay they seem to command higher prices than secondhand (but new) carpet mats. First thing I ever do when I buy a car is put the carpet mats in the loft and buy a set of rubber mats....

But good luck with the sale......and enjoy your new car, we have a reasonably quick (!) Golf and the Karoq, but I prefer driving the Karoq........

Well it's now got pride of place on my drive!! Pleased thus far, although nearly cried handing over my Golf R lol!!

A few things which I'm doing some research on but can't find answers, or can't believe lol!?

1) Does the SE L not come with footwell lighting as standard?

2) Reference my MY21 Amundsen, when you bring your hand closer to the screen, should there not be some boxes that appear as if by magic, eg. Destinations, New Destinations, etc etc?

Many thanks

Andrew
