Rough Road package

Does anyone know what is included in the Rough Road option for the lower two spec cars (S and SE, see below) which is included apparently as standard on the SEL and above?

Reports suggest its additional under-body protection which could well be helpful for me but my new SE seems to have complete albeit flimsy

plastic trays underneath and I can't get into a dealer at the moment to try and get a look. A photo if possible would be very helpful; thanks

Skoda where the ones that said there was to be the higher suspension option with the Kamiq and the the Car Magazines printed that.

But Auto Express will print anything regardless of it going to come to pass in the UK.

Maybe the journalist co-ck up was the standard height then the lower 'Sports' height.

Same thing with the Scala.  Extra height.

So people might well have expected it not to be in some countries only.

*** This is the issue with Skoda UK and configurators and taking what you see &  read as going to be what you get.***

have to use farm lanes frequently so am interested in under-body protection but does anyone know what this option includes, now shown as part of the Wheels and Suspension optional equipment?

I couldn't get precise details from my local dealer other than what it says on the web, i.e. "additional front underbody guard and stone guard" but isn't all this included anyway? Dealer suggests I contact Skoda Customer Service [SCS] and here's how it went . . .

Me: Please tell me exactly what I would get additional to what's on the car now?

SCS: Here's a link to our website (attached)

Me: That link takes me to an option page that does not open (Think: maybe that's a clue)

SCS: Sorry link not working, the rough road package includes (wait for it) "additional front underbody guard and stone guard"

Me: I know what it says in the sale brochure but I asked what exactly will I get that is not on the standard car

SCS: Please contact your local dealer!

Doh!!!!

@Carlston, thank a lot. But do You know which type of suspension setup I have: standard, sport, rough road package, other ?

You've got standard Kamiq suspension, and that's the highest it goes.

Skodas such as the Octavia Scout, Kamiq, Karoq, and Kodiaq don't have higher suspension than standard because the standard suspension on these types of cars is already jacked up, ie. the standard suspension on the Kamiq is equivalent to the increased ride height suspension on the Scala.

Kamiq on standard suspension (this is as high as it goes)

One more question. What would be if I installed the rear coil spring

2Q0511121CC?

Tech spec are almost similar

Fitting Position Rear Axle
Wire Diameter 11 mm
Length 344 mm
Outer Diameter 107 mm
Weight 1.86 kg
Code 2Q0511121CD

and

Fitting Position Rear Axle
Wire Diameter 10.5 mm
Length 345 mm
Outer Diameter 106 mm
Weight 1.5 kg
Code 2Q0511121CC

The specification you've given for the 2Q0511121CD is probably for the slightly stiffer 2Q0511121CE.

This is because both the 2Q0511121CD and 2Q0511121CE OEM part numbers are listed against the Spidan 88088. Therefore it probably matches the stiffer of the two, ie. 2Q0511121CE.

2Q0511121CC is likely to be about 5% softer than 2Q0511121CD. The ride height will be similar, unless you add a lot weight in the back of the car. In which case, the 5% softer spring will compress a little more, but only about 5% more.

The gknautomotive.com spring catalogue lists the 2Q0511121CC for the Kamiq 1.0TSI 95HP and the 2Q0511121CD for the Kamiq 1.0TSI 115HP.

Kilen 63546 and Lesjofors 4282946 are the same spring, because they are both made in the same factory is Sweden. Just marketed under two different brand names.
