The family has increased in size, so unfortunately our Fiesta is no longer cutting in terms of space (babies need too much stuff!).

 

Lots of research later, and I've put a deposit on a 2009 Octavia estate (1.9TDI PD elegance) - getting delivered at some point this week 

 

Great condition, lots of service history, cambelt change at ~65k miles (car is currently on ~95k), and in terms of toys is a massive step up from the Fiesta.

 

From everything I've read, the 1.9 PD is the one to go for, efficient, reliable, decent power (although isn't going to set the world on fire), no DPF, only real concerns being the DMF which can be converted to an SMF if/when it goes. On paper the car seems to tick all the boxes, so hoping I've made the right decision!

 

Have a couple of technical questions, but I'll pop them over in the car specific area.

Nice car, and all the toys in Elegance trim. You'll not run out of room with all the baby stuff.

 

I remember having to sell my Mk1 Focus as the boot was too small for the buggy and stuff. Ended up in a MK1 Octi, massive boot and all the room makes life a lot easier.
