Octavia mk4 Engine and Car Repair manuals?

Hello fellow Skodan's!

Started driving a brand new 2020 Octavia Combi with the TSI 1.0 110HP. Very impressed with performance, and fuel economy!

Minor issues i've had so far:

1. the car is too new for the dealer to know how to enable Android Play option which exists on the 8" screen. They say I should be able to do that using the skoda app after march 2021. Anybody can help with this?

2. i can't seem to find any manuals online for this 1.0 TSI 2020 engine which may be a bit different from the older versions thereof. Anybody has any info on this?

Free to sign up, you should get some info for free but most the useful stuff requires payment. A print to PDF function is handy to save anything useful for future use.

It's not clear what country you're in, but you could try contacting Skoda UK (or equivalent) about Smartlink activation. You'll need a dealer to do it but hopefully Skoda can give them some pointers or confirm the March availability.

Regarding the car manuals -- I signed up and browsed ERWIN. This is not what I am looking for.

ERWIN is extremely expensive and paying for it seems to be required every single time I want to do even the smallest of things.

I just paid 9 euro for one hour of access -- this is nowhere near enough and printing is not really helpful since one needs to browse deep into a topic before printing becomes an option.

Anybody knows if there is an actual manual PDF that one can download for e.g., engine repair?

I'd suggest buying an hour or two and downloading everything you can find for future use.

It's the only official source I'm aware of and given how new the MK4 is, I doubt many unofficial sources exist yet.

FYI, I found ALL the manuals there in PDF (300MB+). Just a bit difficult to find.

Go to the "Individual Vehicle Information" -> "Repair information" and "Training Items" menus and you can download lots and lots of stuff.

You click the download link next to the file title in erWin, in the repair information section.

If it says “Order flat rate” rather than Download/View, it’s because you don’t have a current subscription for access. It’s about £7 for 1hr (enough to download all of the repair manuals for your car), or £26ish for 24hrs.

I’ve seen two cars on Autotrader, both 2018 and the technical and details in the ads suggest one is 227 BHP and the other is 242. Both appear to be the facelift variant, based on the split front headlights. Is there any other way of confirming the engine BHP apart from relying on the advert contents? Thanks

As title. Alpine i902-OC3 unit. Ideal replacement for an MIB1 Octavia Mk3. Adds wired CarPlay, full comparability with steering wheel controls, and cars standard infotainment features (except telephone button on the wheel). Best to read up about this unit online if interested. Also comes with Canton adaptor box if required. Hey everybody! I am a proud owner of a 2017 Octvaia 1.8TSI for two months now. Does anybody know what app/website is the best to find parts for your car? (a brake change is shortly due, and would be awesome to have a website which works and finds parts through VIN’s like ETKA). Thanks for the help in advance Benjamin

Hi again. I have a 1.6 tdi My daughter recently had to sell her VW Sharan after the DPF was pronounced dead. At least 2K to fix,probably much more.Her car was low mileage,full service history. Can I protect the DPF on our much older vehicle,are there options if it clogs up? Thankyou

Hi again. The service light won't reset using the press the trip method ,also the aircon won't blow out of the face vents despite recalibrating (might be another fault I guess) so Im thinking I'll need to reset the service light with a diagnostic tool Which one though? I should add I've never used one .
