Boot won't unlock after remote press

Featured Replies

Hi,

When pressing the unlock button all my doors including the boot used to open, some time ago I think since a battery change, only the doors are opening and for the boot I need to long press the middelle trunk button. is there a way to change this using vcds? I already looked into the car settings and it was set to unlock all doors.

Regards!

Boot lock functions are generally seperate Door Lock Functions.

Changing a battery in your keyfob won't have effected this; the only option is whether you had personalisation on the car switched on - if you do, and either the car was factory reset or the keyfob was unassociated with a driver profile - would it go back to default settings of opening only the drivers door.

I meant the car's battery sorry, i dont think there are driver profiles

Well; if the car battery is completely dead and it isn't holding it charge - and the persistent memory for the ECU is also blanked because of no electrical charge, then the car will go back to factory settings - which is single door one press, all doors two presses.

Boot lid would then need to be unlocked using the boot unlock button.

Presumably the car battery is ok now as you've changed it. I'd uncheck the setting for all doors. See if that then only unlocks the drivers door.  If that's the case, then set it to open all doors. That may clear the fault.

I already did check :)

Wanted to clarify the problem.

Do you want the boot to be just be unlocked (but not opened) or do you want it to be physically opened on unlocking?

just unlocked, together with the other doors when single pressing the unlock button

Okay, then selecting All Doors unlock should do that. Suspect that something has got out of sync here with the central locking. You can try factory resetting the car to see if that helps. Failing that, its dealer time.
