This explains it best.

I would rather drive on the limit with worse front tyres than unexpectedly lose control in the rear end. Difference is that in the video control is lost at slow speeds. With worn rear winter tyres same happens but at higher speed, for example driving 80kph into a slight curve.

Seriously? You would rather lose grip on the front wheels than rear wheels - I would much rather deal with rear wheel slip because if front goes then steering goes with so much more likely to end up in ditch!

That's really interesting!  My Yeti has two all-season tyres on the front and summer tyres on the rear.  Not driven it in the snow, due to lock down.  Just as well by the looks of things!!

Chris

Mine has Cross Climate+ on the rear and Michelin Energy on the front, looking forward to getting something grippy on the front now as the rears in snow are like limpets.
I am not stupid enough to put them on the front and for the rear to keep swapping ends.

..one year later. In  the end I owned the Yeti just a bit over a year. One month ago I traded it to Kia Soul EV to further reduce my commuting costs. Diesel has gone from 1.2€/l to 2.1€/l in one year, I am now paying installments on the EV that are less than just fuel costs were before.

As I said to a friend of mine... "oh, so it looks like _that_ when it's clean". Pictures are from the dealer's ad, I saved them just for fun.

One  year, roughly 30'000km commuting, no big repairs. During last summer I added B-pillar covers, wind deflectors and extra led lights. All in all, I am very happy with the car, 10/10 would buy again :D

Some people don't like how the Soul looks like but hey... to me it felt quite natural :) If only they made it in 4wd too...

I doubt you'd ever need 4wd if you have all those palm trees around?  😁

That dealer uses same wallpaper in all their locations (different floor). Unfortunately weather outside does not look as good right now.

What brand of wind deflectors did you go with? I used Heko for my previous Octavia but I am struggling to find them in stock in the UK so I am looking for alternatives.

http://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/YETI/Wind-Rain-deflectors/

I bought the dark ones from there, along with the b-pillar covers.

^^^ The cost of delivery to the UK if it is as shown is why many do not get direct from Heko.

3 or 4 times the cost of the parts is an issue.

To pay: £126.09
For 2 front wind deflectors!!!

£49.60 from Amazon for ClimAir including delivery.
