Gear selection display on virtual cockpit

Featured Replies

Hi again! Still fiddling with the virtual cockpit and haven't managed to get the gear selection to display on the screen.

It only seems to show the D symbol in the bottle left corner with no gear number, is there a way for it to be shown in the middle of the speedo/rev counter and show the actual gear? I'm sure I've seen this in

other pictures on a Superb virtual cockpit?

Why would I want to do this?? I've no idea!!  Maybe just wanting to see how early/late the car goes through the gears during normal driving.

Not possible as yet to display this way but could come with firmware updates. I’d also like it especially when driving more enthusiastically.

Yeah, same here. It's really hard to see those small letters and numbers in the bottom left corner of the display. Would be great to have some big one displayed somewhere. At least in RS display cluster.

Would be really nice to have something like this in the Golf GTI.

I'm hoping Carista might bring options like that eventually. Think they'll be a long way off though

when you select Sport mode the indicator changes to S and it shows the selected gear e.g. S2, S3, ... Also when you shif gears manualy M2, M3, ... but not in normal mode, which is quite frustrating to me too lol. Also the possition of that indicator in lover left corner is quit "unergonomic", so hopefully some update takes care of it eventualy.

My Bear has an astonishing selection of screen displays, so I’d be surprised if you can’t find one buried in the config that suits.

I'm hoping it'll be an option but think it'll be a while before we see anything on easy to use platforms like Carista

The Kodiaq one above would be really nice to have.

I'm having an appointment in a week or so to switch on some options in the car. For example memory function for lane assist, DRL on the back always on, car alarm, etc... Currently there is a lot less options available which can be modified as on older cars. But they say the list will grow slowly.

Be interested to know how you get on. I'd like beep on locking activated.

Beep on locking is already supported. After activating you can tun it on/off in the menu.

Will post un updated here after the meet. I don't have a fixed date yet.

You can also watch some videos of the new Octavia and the new Golf here:

There's no option to turn it on though is there? How do you turn it on? I've only got Carista.

Sorry, should have written more clear. it's not an option out of the box. But they can turn beep on locking option on and enable you an additional menu in the settings so you can turn it off and on by yourself later.

And sorry, I don't know if this is achievable with Carista or not.

You can check it here

Guessing this is done with VCDS.

Anyone know of places in the UK offering this. When lockdown is over obviously
