Change user profile name

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a 2021 Kodiaq with Columbus infotainment.

I'm trying to change the name of my account displayed by the Columbus. I've read this Thread but doeas not apply to my case. I've changed the name in my profile on Skoda Connect web site but has not been updated on the Columbus.

There is a way to change it? The account has been created by my dealer, but has mispelled my name, so I've corrected on the Skoda Account and now I wouls like to change it also in the car.

Thanks

Edika

I managed to change the name that appears in the car by changing my nickname on the Skoda connect website.

You need to select your profile on the top r/h corner, select edit details then it shows your nickname.

Already done that but without results. Changed Name and NJckname, but on the car is displayed the old one. Tried also to for the sync.

At a loss then. I know it should work as I did it for my nickname and then had to log into the website under my wife’s email to change her nickname and both changed in the car.

You are talking about Nickname, and I've notice right now that my nickname was leaved empy by the dealer, only name and surname was filled. What is shown in the car is my Name and the first letter of my Surname.

Filling the nickname, the name displayed in the car has not changed. I've tried to change the nickanme of my wife's account, that have a secondary user in the car, and the name of her accounz shown on the car has changed.

So changing the nickname it's working like you said but only for my wife's account. For mine it does'nt work.

I had update nickname in skoda connect website after a few days of creating my skoda-id.

Worked for me the first time and as soon as I login to the car (I have a S-PIN) the profile sync happens and the nickname is displayed next to the profile picture.

Maybe a reboot would help?

What you mean when you say 'reboot'?

'reboot'

long press the power button on the infotainment and restart the unit. Sometimes such restarts can fix intermittent issues.

Also would be worthwhile checking - when you enter car and select your user (+optionally enter S-PIN) do you see a message on screen saying "synchronizing profile"? If yes then it should have got the nick name. If not then this could be source of your problem.

The reboot procedure does not reset the system?

My user is synched everytime I access it. Also I0ve forced a sync manually and it works perfectly. Simply does not take the changes made on Skoda Connect Account.

Last try (and unfortunately that is the end of my knowledge :))

Did you make sure that the nickname appears correctly under VW group Skoda ID site? For me there is nothing shown about nickname in Skoda connect site as seen below, but rather in the VW group Skoda ID site.

Today I've added a space at the end of my nickname on skoda site, and the sync now has upadtated the name shown on columbus with the nicknaname setted on skoda site. Finally the sync has worked.

Anyway this is a very bad system, full of bug and badly designed.

Erika, Hi, glad you resolved your nickname issue.

I managed it by doing what Amari said by going on the VW site.

Skoda could make it easier, but the quality of the car tends to offset this little issues . Also when you resolve them do you not feel great !!😁

Happy motoring

Klim

Hi guys just found this thread from a general google search. The name on my columbus was annoying me a lot. I used Amari's method of going to the vw portal and it worked perfectly. Many thanks.

I spoke too soon, I changed my nickname on the VW site but it never changed on the Columbus...
