Fabia 1 Vrs factory alloys wanted

Featured Replies

I am looking for a set of four standard 16" alloys as a second set for winter tyres. If someone has some with winter tyres already fitted that would be even better. I am located in west Oxfordshire but travel a little with, mostly to Bucks, Northants and Warwickshire.

You don't see many advertised on here these days so i would suggest a better bet is eBay or very much last resort one of the many Fabia vRS groups on Facebook. The rate at which these cars are being broken for spares at the minute at least means parts are cheap and there should be someone reasonably local.

When i ran standard sized winter tyres on my vRS (205/45/16) i utilised 4 x steel spare wheels of the Fabia vRS as they were peanuts to buy (normally £10-£20 per wheel) and they looked ok for winter use. Plus if you have moderately upgraded brakes (I'm thinking Octavia vRS 312's) they'll fit nicely behind, AND they use the same radius shouldered wheel bolts as the standard alloys

Many thanks for your advice.

Fabia MK1 130HP RS Alloy Rim

These rims often come up secondhand on ebay in rather scratched/kerbed condition for about £75 each.

195/45R16 and 205/45R16 are not the best winter tyre sizes for the Fabia. They are expensive sizes, give a hard ride, and narrower tyres such as 185/60R15 will work better in the snow and ice.

autodoc normally sell the Alcar 7415 for about £30, but as you can see from the link above they are not in stock at the moment.

Thanks for that info. I have just this morning bought a set of four good looking factory alloys on ebay, including two good tyres, for £115 and today I am collecting four almost new Pirelli 195/50R16 winter tyres bought on Gumtree for £100. I can fit them myself so hopefully all sorted!

The tyres that you've bought are too big, they should be 205/45R16, you may get some rubbing and your speedo will be wrong.
