Seat rails & child seat tethers

Featured Replies

Evening! So I bought some long arm tether points and went ahead and fitted them under the rail. When sliding hem in a felt like I hit a metal locating pin to something. I’ve fitted the kids seat now but can’t help but think the pins are now pressing on the tether metal and it could bend the seat rail it I have a passenger?

the red circles are highlighting where I felt the tether arm hit something?

any idea? I was going to change them

tomorrow to stick out the side of the rail not parallel to it.

many help much appreciated

Can you explain what these tether things do. Or even a link to a description.  Trying to understand what it is before I offer any help.

PS. I have kids and car seats for them so fairly familiar with different setups. Or so I thought.

the seat is the Britax Max way plus which has tethers that needs fastening to the rails or seat

That's interesting.  I've not seen those before.  Seen the tethers that go over the back but not down the front.

Having looked at the design I wouldn't have them come out the side of the rail.  They are designed to be inline with the seat rail to take the load.  Did you manage to get the hole to line up to get the bolt back in?

Yeah lined up fine bolt in.

but in my mind I’m think - will the rail bend as it’s raised at the back? Or are they strong

The shorter version I had came out the side right at the bolt as they where not long enough come out the back so bought these longer ones
