Matrix light/light assist

Featured Replies

Could someone please tell me if I have matrix lights on my new vrs do these operate all of the time. Or do I have to push the high beam stalk forwards until the A appears in the headlight for it to work??

Yes they are standard and if you have the switch/button in the Auto position then they will activate automatically as I have them on my 2020 SEL Superb.

The headlights will come on if you have the lights in Auto mode.

The Matrix feature will only come on if you select high beams and are travelling over 30mph in an area without street lights.

However, I've got them and (on my car) they don't work.

OK. So you have to remember to push the headlight stalk forwards every time you get in the car at night for Matrix to work.

Then wait for the infotainment screen to reboot to switch the heated seats on and stop/start off.

You can set the heated seats to come on automatically.

Early adoption means vcds can't be used to disable start stop. All cars have it now so just the downside on jumping on the MK4 early.

How often do you really need the matrix lights on? Wouldn't use them about town.

Yeah you need to turn them with stalk forward. If you only dtive in the city with lights - then its no use.
I live out of city so its my mandatory thing to do. But works very nice, never got a upcoming flashing from other cars 😁

I never really knew how they worked. I presumed they were on all the time and just did their own thing adapting to the various road conditions.  Then I wondered why I had  the ‘A’/ headlight symbol. I used to have that on a Golf and it just dipped the headlights when meeting traffic. So now this doesn’t dip the lights, it just blanks a portion of your light off. Every day is a school day. I live in the sticks so I’ll give them a try.
