Fuel consumption down

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2015 1.6 octavia and recently noticed a dramatic fuel consumption drop to 35/40mpg where before I was averaging 50/55mpg around the doors, I was wondering if any of you have had similar problems in the past and what was the problem? I keep the car well serviced and tyre pressures are regularly checked too.
thanks.

@JR8418  Welcome to the forum.

Your fuel consumption is up not down as in you are using more fuel.

Efficiency is down.

?

How long have you had the car, and did you have it last winter?

Has you well serviced car been given The Emissions fix at a Skoda main dealers?

?

Do you think the colder weather and the engine / engine oil taking longer to get to an efficient temp could be the reason the car is using fuel up quicker?

Yes sorry that’s what I ment, I have had the car since 2016 and it’s only recently the fuel consumption has been terrible, with regards to the cold weather no it’s definitely not that as previous years it has never had this problem.

?

Is this winter not colder than the past 5 winters so far?

?

How many miles has the car done, and is it doing more regens now so wasting fuel compared to the previous winters and the DPF is more clogged?

When was the Air Filter changed?
