Using voice search button to set navigation to postcode, and issues with android auto wireless,

Featured Replies

Good Evening All.

Just got my new Octavia, and having had it a few hours I wanted to ask if anyone knows why using the voice control button on the steering wheel will not let me find a post code.

This is my procedure. Hit the voice control button and say enter postcode. computer then says say postcode, which i then do in a clear and consistent tone. end result is please say that again or pardon from the computer voice.

Am I doing something wrong?

I also can not get android auto wireless to work on my car. Ive got the app which has been updated six times now. I also have the cable too. I have gone into developer mode and turned on android auto wireless but nothing seems to work. I have also discovered there seems to be 2 versions of android auto, namely just android auto as well as android auto for phone screens, so wondering if i  have done something wrong. I have had all this faff with 2 brand new vw golf MK8 diesels too, but thought that it might be different in the skoda but apparently not.

Can anyone help please. IM not too technical, so asking for some help please.

By the way just driven back from RRG  Skoda in Rochdale to Camberley in Surrey and MPG on the return journey at never less than 75 apart from the damn roadworks and it was returning just under 71 MPG, should I be pleased, as I personally dont think thats too terrible for a 2 litre 150 hp diesel.

Look forward to some (CONSTRUCTIVE) replies if at all possible.

I'm not sure the car has wireless Android auto.

Sorry I'm not sure I can help with the other points. Although 71mpg from a 2.0 diesel? I only managed 44mpg from my last diesel so that's definitely impressive!

We too have a MK8 golf and MK4 Octavia. Touch wood both seem largely Ok so far.

I think it can use apple car play wireless, but for Android auto you need to use the wire; so I'd try the wire you say you have (if you haven't already)

Here (East-middle EU), only the “Style” package has the wireless connection as basic.

I dont talk to Laura , we had a fall out over my hands are cold

Mine IS a Style....

Android auto seems to need separate data package when setting up wifi hotspot. Not on new Kodiaq facelift apparently.
