Karoq facelift

Featured Replies

Has anyone heard when or if Karoq’s going to be facelifted soon as Tiguan and Ateca recently has been? Skoda says no plans but skoda auto news says this year.

Probably September 2021 since launch was January 2018 and usually on a 7 year cycle with a face lift halfway through the cycle.

There've been a few "spyshots" in the motoring press and online, but it'll be small stuff - new lights, wheels, some grille remodelling, etc,  It won't be much inside, that's good anyway, and the two-spoke wheel is already in there.

Are you thinking of buying one, and worried about getting an obsolete model?

We’ve got a 2018 Karoq Edition 2.0TDI 4x4 manual, we’re not doing much mileage now and wanted Edition petrol auto but still 4x4, wondered if they were going to do this again also possible hybrid.

I'd suspect more touchscreen controls like the Tiguan, Ateca etc. Which is a big turn off for me as I find them distracting and dangerous. In fact the Karoq's present controls are the reason I bought one rather than a Tiguan!

CJJE, thats another reason I chose the Karoq. The ease of adjusting the AC controls, the stop/start function, all the things that are best served with one or two touches at most is imperative.  But don't get me started on ths topic, we'll be here all week.

I expect a hybrid Karoq will wait until the next fully new version, like the Mk 4 Octavia, and they'll be working on that already, together with getting the Enyaq into showrooms.  This stage in the Karoq lifecycle is a bit late to warrant the investment on an existing platform. I know they've done a hybrid in the Superb, but that's a car aimed at the fleet buyer or business user where a hybrid gains tax advantages.

But I could be wrong.

Could easily be early 2022 by time it hits showrooms, the Kodiaq was introduced about year earlier and they are still selling pre facelift versions of that.

Regarding hybrid, it is probably determined by when they can build enough battery packs
