Radiator Blinds

Featured Replies

What about the “radiator blinds”? Could anyone confirm they do exist?

In the owner manual (page 146) is written that “the radiator blinds reduce polluting emissions and CO2 emissions and save fuel” and “If the display of the instrument cluster shows a message relating to the function restriction of the blinds, the maximum speed of the vehicle is limited to 160 km/h. The cause may be ice or snow in the area around the blinds. After the ice or snow has thawed, the blinds are functional again”.

They do exist and are easy to see. Just take a peek below the license plate after the car has been parked and you will see them closed. I always forget to try to see them open.

Many thanks for your answer. So, their "normal" position is closed. I will look again.

Fords have used this tech for years. Had them on my old Focus and Kuga. They are very effective and help increase engine warm-up time.
