Delivery times?

Featured Replies

if parts continue to be in short supply well into next year,  and your car still has'nt been built by august next year  😂,  it automatically becomes next years model/spec.

the model year changes to my23  around week 33 and skoda might use this to downgrade all models,

this might allow them to keep the prices from rising again but effectively you get less for your money,

a bit like buying a mars bar, the price appears the same as years ago, but there now half the size 😒

Yes and no...
When I agreed to give up the rear-view cam and the park-assist, the dealer sent me an Addendum to the Contract with a price reduction - corresponding to the two options that were removed.

No, they have to give me everything that we agreed upon, I as a customer do not care and should not care what model year is it. I know what I ordered and must get it.

yes i agree they have to give everything ordered,

but the problem is, you might not know your going to get the new model year with lower spec  [ if skoda does  decide to down grade specs for my23 models ] until august next year

if you have waited a year or so, that would be  the nightmare scenario,  so hopefully we all get what we ordered early next year

Well, I look at it from this angle... My unfinished Octavia is MY22 and there were no changes to the equipment for Slovenian market between MY21 and MY22, so there is no reason to leave out any eq. And they have until end of June 2022 until MY changes again 😂

Just been told to expect the vehicle to be ready for delivery to me w/c 3rd January which will be 3 weeks after it's left the factory, although unsure if the holidays will hold anything up slightly.

As if by magic this has now been delayed to w/c 17th Jan by the dealer as of this morning - no reason given. At least I’m used to the delays now…

The only clause i believe is added in the contract is that if you have a certain option that is included in a certain pack/standard or option list your dealer can chose freely to add that pack or seperate option to you car without increasing the price. I know it is different in some countries but here it is like that. Just like the bought options they have to deliver it unless it has safety issues for example and or you agree to remove an option.

Those that ordered MY21 spec vehicles that were not built before MY22  ones have to go with what MY22 cars have and stuff has been changed from what spec they were supposed to come with.

You might well get 'this is what we have, if you do not want then cancel'.

I ordered MY21, but the only thing that has changed for MY22 was my colour. I've kept all the options and my dealer has not said I need to remove anything. Still have Canton and a reverse cam.

@zetzet That is as you would expect if the next years model has not changed and the same standard and options are available.

If not then they are not.

?

Do you have your car yet?

Not yet. I expect to get it sometime in spring judging by everyone elses delivery times. I ordered in May 2021.

yes this is my fear,  you could wait the biggest part of a year, then be told they are gonna  remove say  the digital dash, the electric boot , radar cruise etc

take it or leave it

prices have already increased and will probably increase again,  but most people will still get there car at the price they  signed for,

skoda almost certainly know this , so to avoid making a loss on a car,   they might start removing things and use the model year change to do it,

it's   effectively the same as a price increase

Wow if they will be able to do it i will be butthurt 😕  But i will go to a lawyer and see what my possibilities are.

Just had notification yesterday that my hyper green vrs iv estate is in Germany awaiting shipping. Ordered 12th July with canton and winter pack, so things are definitely starting to move forward.

I had to Google Canton as people refer to it all the time. What a strange name for a sound system. I think of a Chinese restaurant when it's mentioned 🤣

Dan

lucky you ordered mine 20 may 21

I was in Dealer yesterday choosing number plate for 31/12 pick up of 25/07 order and apparently orders placed now are advised of 12 month wait time!

Choose a number plate 😲 last 4 new cars I have bought since 2014 (Ford, Toyota, Kia and Skoda) I've never had a choice, you get what comes out of the computer. Long gone are the days of picking from a printed list. Last time I did that was 2005 for a Suzuki Swift.

Still had 30-40 available.... all anonymous except one ‘WTF’... happy with that!

Canton come from the old French for corner.

It can be used to describe areas cut into administrative areas. Just as Hong Kong was a canton from China, administrated by the British.

And in reference to flags, to mean a 'square charge', is the area in the top left of a flag such as on Australian flags, the Union Flag is the canton within their flag.

Hello all,

let me tell you the story in regards to my order.

Order placed in 28th of June 2021, romanian dealership.

Style 1.5 TSI DSG config with 12 optional stuff.

According to the dealer, the car is finished and it shows up as shipped from 2nd of December.

However, the car hasn't reached the countries customs until today.

Sales rep has no idea where the car is at this stage, and given the fact that the Skoda factory is closed until January 3rd / 10th, he cannot get ahold of additional information about the shipment.

What he told me is that he is sure is that the car got build completely and it was shipped.

VIN exists, I have added it to the Skoda Connect app based on it. I can see the car there but cannot activate it (normally, as I am not having the keys and the car :))

One think I need to understand is: the train shipment to the destination countries is owned by Skoda or 3rd party? Also, could there be a human error and the car got shipped by mistake in a different destination?

2 other folks that have had their cars shipped about the same time are having their cars in our country's customs,

Mine hasn't and it worries me a bit, given the fact that the car has been already paid fully.

Has someone experienced similar experience so far?

Why would it worry you? Even if you did pay for it you have not received it, if they lose it (which I doubt is happening, it's probably just stuck at some staging/loading/unloading place during the holidays) they would have to make you another one. 😃

That's what worries me the most with these waiting times.

I have waited for six months for it to be built, not planning in waiting 6 more. :)

Especially given the fact that I have sold my former car a few weeks ago to make room for this one. :)

The most less likely scenario is that an accident happened during transport and it got a delay because of it.  And hopefully not a total loss car.
