Enable Traffic sign recognition

Featured Replies

My 21 Model year Superb SEL zEstste has the A5 Camera n the front windscreen. Does anyone know if OBDeleven is able to enable the traffic sign recognition feature? I’ve tried with my carista tool but there were hardly any settings that could be changed or enabled not even the alarm chirp on locking/unlocking. My previous 2019 Superb worked with my carista a lot more. I’m wondering if the obdeleven would work better?, I don’t want to waste £100 on it though if it can only do what the carista I already have does.

thanks for any help.

the facelift Superb has changed a lot when it comes to modules, and hence the associated codings.

codings that works for pre-FL will not b the same, vcds or obdeleven.

Doesn’t the my21 have a locked gateway now so you can’t make any changes?

Also from my20 you need swap activation for traffic sign recognition, so it can’t be done with coding

It’s not showing in the one touch adjustments. There’s nothing in the worshop section yet either. Few items in adjustments. Scandinavian drl’s and door locks, mirror dip and several others, but no traffic. Whether that’s a sign they can’t do it, or they just haven’t added it yet I don’t know. May be adjustable in coding. Can you download the app free and then check what’s there without an account? Or even ask them directly or on the discussion board maybe.

I have a 21MY SEL, you can enable traffic sign recognition in the Nav, done from centre screen,  but, has been said by others, to get it in the binnacle, you need a SWaP file change, which only Skoda dealers can do as far as I can see.

You got a link for this?

I don’t believe tsr is possible on 2q0 cameras still.

happy to be proven wrong :)

How much did it cost if you don’t mind me asking? I have been quoted £550 by a local

Garage?

Around £650 in total but they also activated and coded pACC and a few other bits. Was a while ago

it's too expensive, now it's more accessible and the price should be lower

Is that predictive cruise?

Yea it seems crazy money to unlock something that already exists! If there was new hardware I would get it.

yes if you have the older camera you can code it yourself

It seems I have the Q20 so can’t code it, everyone is saying it’s much more complex :/ ill live without it on the dash and leave it on the centre maps I think doesn’t seem worth £600

I had my L&K Superb (on a 73 plate) done by EastYorkshire Retrofits both TSR and PACC last week! Cost me £595! Was it worth it? Yes probably, we were on holiday in Whitby at the time so I didn’t have far to travel to have it done, but on the journey home to Stratford Upon Avon it proved its worth! Incidentally on the drive back from Bridlington to Whitby PACC slowed me just in time to avoid a mobile speed camera! My wife couldn’t believe the chances of that happening!

I thought it was worth it. only got to save you a speeding ticket on a smart motorway etc and paid for its self

This can be activated much cheaper remotely if you buy ~100EUR vnci6154

I've tried using PACC, but I didn't get on with it. I found the car would slow down or speed up when it picked up the wrong limit which can be confusing if anyone is following you. There are a couple of examples near me, such as the new dual carriageway on the A465 around Merthyr Tydfil. This road has only just opened, but it thinks it's still the old 3 lane road as the software for the maps isn't up to date, although they're on the version dated June 2025. Another is when I pass though Libanus on the A470 southbound, which is a 50mph limit. The car will suddenly slow to 20mph when it sees the signs for the road leading into the village which are set an an angle to the main road, then it speeds up again when it gets to the next 50mph repeater.

It probably works better on a motorway where any lower speed limits are usually clearly marked and are not for another road nearby, but I stick with using just ACC.

It does have its anomalies! If I’m on a National speed limit 60mph, but I set the speed to 50, when it hits a 30mph it slows to 20! But if the speed is set to 60, then it slows to 30! Other than that it’s great on motorways, dual carriageways and national speed limits single carriageways when you can actually safely drive at 60! And yes sometimes the TSR will pick up a traffic sign that not relevant to the road you are on! I got it enabled for the times I’m driving long distance and it’s proved itself worthwhile!

We went across Europe last month for 25 days and covered over 3,300 miles and the ACC was invaluable as my right leg would've been aching if it had to keep the throttle at the same steady speed for miles. At the age of 74, I don't like to go too fast, so I was always a bit less less than most of the motorway limits, such as Poland where it's 140kph. I'm not sure what PACC would do in Germany on the unrestricted sections. Would it go at maximum speed or would it stick to the advisory maximum speed of 130kph? Also, some sections of the A1 motorway in Lithuania can be a bit rough and 130kph would be too high for me as I try to treat the car with care as I want it it last.
