Clean, Green, Machine !

Featured Replies

I know i've commented on my cars MPG before, but I thought i'd show you some evidence. Around town, this was the result of about 17 miles at 30 (ish) mph.

The longer I drove at this speed (cruise used all the time, 4th gear, below 2K) the higher the figure went.

Obviously, the turbo wasn't being used.

Yesterday, I did a return journey to Carlisle (100 miles) drove nice & economically, lovley sunny day, and returned a 64.4mpg average.

Bear in mind this car is One Clicked as well ! :) So impressed.

Wow! I feel a challenge coming on, but first I need to get my head back in an upright position :D That pic is really not helping my hangover

[cocks head to left] :P :P

Nice one mate.

Pretty chuffed with my 40-50mph 57.4mpg I achieved on my commute home. Much of this though relies on having clear roads, and friendly traffic lights. Stopping and starting again kills economy.

To be quite honest, this was achieved changing up a gear before 2k revs and using the cruise (which i've found it impossible to match without) the roads were quite open but it shows, it can be done. :)

I have never seen above 52 mpg,

And I drive like a grandad and never exceed the limit:eek:

Frankly, I'd rather drive mine the way it was meant to be driven (ie rag the t!ts off it)

I didn't buy it for the economy, I don't even NEED a car, I bought it simply to have a laugh with. I'm very satisfied :D

But. nice figure mate :gay:. Best i've done is 65mpg when on the way to Jabbasport.

On A roads, if I'm careful and do 50-60mph, I can usually get high 60's, possibly touching 70mpg, but there's a lot of hills around here and they really kill economy.

highest I've ever managed was 59.9 so I'm quite impressed with that figure... I don't have cruise though to help keep my right foot of the load pedal! lol...

average day for me though (about 200 miles) I tend to get 50-52 with a variaty of driving....

cat&fiddle meet was more like 41 ! lol....

C&F meet took my 52mpg average when we arrived at the Red Lion ( after a 230 mile cruise) down to 43mpg in just 50 miles. :D And not all of that was being able to use 100% wot too.

My blast only incurred an average loss of 2 mpg!

I have never achieved above 52 mpg, but then again have never fallen below 46 mpg.

My daily commute is 30 miles and is sometimes grandad like and others nearly flat out ( at 03:00 ). It also usually involves a good thrashing at weekends, as we speak the W.O. is out trying to kill it!!

Overall I am very impressed..

I think your computer is faulty Jon!!

Perhaps you could consider trading the car in for a Nissan Micra and a flat cap!!

The recent hot weather certainely helps. Took a run to Matlock Bath and back from Nottingham last night and got 61mpg. Nice chips when we got there too. :D

mine is gettin better now it's warming up, as it's taking less time to reach a warmer eco friendly temps.

seen 70.1 on a 156 mile run on M6,M5,A40,A48 run to my dads near Chepstow
