Drivers Front Window Issue.

Featured Replies

Hi was just out this morning driving suddenly my front drivers window went all the way down by itself even past the stop mark and heard it drop now wont go back up just hear a scrunching noise I take it this is the window regulator screwed maybe and if so any advice on fixing this issue please ???

It's not that difficult to change. I bought a complete regulator I had horrible experiences with the repair kits. It's riveted on I couldn't find any of the rivets locally so I used 13mm Tec screws. They are fine a year later and cost pennies.

nice one cheers mate for that I was concerned about the riveting thing worst part is ive got to order the regulator so somehow need to get the window up or the local smack heads will strip my car bare by the morning lol.

The metal door panel is bolted up until about 2003, so on a 2001 car you won't need to bugger about with rivets if you buy a whole new panel with regulator pre-fitted, apart from swapping the speaker to the new panel as those are pop riveted (4 rivets).  I used nuts and bolts for my speaker but if you want the rivets they are part number N90765701 (4.8x15).

Some rivets here...

Ah cool :)  I deleted it as I wasn't sure whether you would have removed the lock unit to do the window regulator.
