New Yeti Owner.

Featured Replies

Hi, I live in East Yorkshire. Ive just inherited a Yeti from my dad who at 91 has decided its time to hand over the keys (thank goodness!!!) Apart from the fact that I do love its total quirkiness its saving me a fortune every month as had a BMW X1 on PCP. I shall miss the SPEED as do like to drive fast occasionally, but my main needs really are space for my 2 dogs and boot room to get furniture in as I do a lot of "up cycling". I do have questions re "upgrades" but will post in appropriate places.

Welcome to Briskoda.

91! That's a good age to still be driving. Hard decision to make sometimes.

Thanks for the welcome, yes fortunately he's only been driving down to Tesco & garden centre (both less than half a mile away) for last  2 years and has discovered its less stressful for me to take him lol. Ive been in the unenviable position of literally having to take the keys off somebody before because he didn't even know he'd had an accident :o  ....especially hard decision for a man I think.

Yeah, I like to think I'll know when to hang up the keys when the time comes, but probably be very reluctant to do so.

Age is no barrier to driving, but when the motor skills start fading and reaction times increase, the sensible thing to do is retire.

You get to be 'Joe Le Taxi' now! :)

Hello Debs :hi:

My Dad was made to give up his car keys by his GP at about 84y/o following a hip fracture.  As a retired lorry driver, he took complete umbrage, but it wasn't before time.

You can't do much better than look to Richard for some Yeti inspiration if you like a bit of speed:

And of course, 'that' video:
