VRS TSI 2021 18" Wheels ?

Featured Replies

I was looking at VRS TSI estate manual with Dynamic Suspension Control with 18" wheels for comfort due to a bad back. Now a couple of weeks later it seems only 19" are available. My options seem to be buy second hand or swap out the wheels and tyres (if they fit) grrrr. 19" is a deal breaker. Would anyone buy the wheels to upgrade, assuming I can swap I would even fit 17" if they would clear the  brake calipers? Here's hoping someone can help. Living in NI makes for limited choice of dealers/brokers.

I don't know the size of the discs on new Octavia vRS but if they're the common 312 mm then yes 17" wheels will fit.  I've even squeezed 16" Audi A3 alloys with slightly less ET over the 312 mm brakes on my old Mk5 Golf.

If it were me and it was the car I wanted, I'd buy it and fit smaller wheels.  As it is, we've currently got my wife's Karoq 190 TDI on 17" Audi Q3 alloys and winter tyres, rather than its original 18" wheels.  It has a much nicer ride on the 17's.

It’s obviously a UK thing,

As an example the RS in Germany gets 18 inch Comet wheels, but the RS Plus gets 19 inch wheels

Not sure what Skoda are trying to achieve by making the 18 inch unavailable

Have you driven a mkiv on the 19s? Having owned both a mk3 on 18s for 7 years and now a mk4 on 19s they ride very similar. Both non dcc cars

I know it's quite subjective, but how do you find the ride of the MK4 on the 19s?

Ha I timed out finding something and bought a 21 Superb 190 sportline DSG petrol hatch ...19" wheels which are a bit choppy on bad surfaces but the overall comfort and drive of the car is fantastic for a 6'4" driver and especially passengers.

Thanks for all the info I'll look into buying used wheels perhaps to also preserve the vulnerable 19s where the tyres don't protect the wheels very well.
