MPH not showing on digital lcd display

Featured Replies

I drove my daughters car today and noticed on the display the mph was shown as dashes, the kph show below was changing with road speed as was the traditional speedo arrow on the big dial on the right.

So the speed is being passed to the instrument cluster.

Any comments ?

I suspect the battery may have been disconnected at some time as the clock was hours out, but reset with no difficulty.

The cluster has lost it's locale from the battery disconnection and needs to be told it's living in the UK.

@ukgnome

Which Mk2 Fabia is this and what kind of dash?

EDIT.   Sorry i see now it is  LCD display.

Ignore below.

It is just that you get a speedo with a needle, and KPH digital in the dash, but you need to change the KPH to get MPH in digital in the middle instead.

(You need to change the setting to Australia using VCDS or whatever.)

Personally i have not seen any that display KPH and MPH at the same time.

When the Service Display is changed from Variable to Fixed the 'Oil Temperature' readout can be lost and show as dashes.

My cars speedo is in mph but the digital display is in kmh. Most older irish spec cars read both kilometres and miles on the speedo, my mk1 fabia is like that.
