IBD11 TEST OF NEEDLES at star engine - Unsuccessful

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a SuperB 2021, (L&K with Virtual Cockpit), TSI2.0., MIB3.

I tried the following to have the Needles fully swipe at engine star, but I am afraid I it did not work:

Go to module 17 , instrument panel
Enter Extended Coding
Access byte mode
In byte 1 , set bit 0

Apparently, bit 0 in Byte 1 was already set when the car delivered,.

I tried to switch it off and on , but no luck.

Any idea if the Needles test is supported on my car ?

What is a needles test for virtual cockpit,

I thought it is just a screen, there aren’t any needles to physically rotate

I assume it's to simulate the needle swipe at start up like on a traditional gauge cluster.

VCs don't need really need the same test as it's a screen and it's software driven. The test on traditional gauge cluster is to let you know all the backlight works and the needles ate working too with the swipe at start up.

According to VCDS its function is to celebrate the indicators

Perhaps there is an audible one for the virtual cockpit that says "Three cheers for the indicators! hip hip - hooray!"

In adaptation of 17 instruments, do a search for "staging". I think you can set it to active. I don't know if it will actually do a needle sweep. Please let us know.

thanks all for the replies.
I know this is not mandatory in the VC, but I'd like the needles to celebrate at startup ;)

I'll search for the "staging" option and advise back...

Guys,

“Staging” was already set Yes. I modified it to No and tried, but the Needles didn’t dance... after setting back to Yes, I saw no dance by the needles....

so I am back to square 1.
Any  further ideas?

I don't think the VC software supports needle sweep.

At least based on a few threads over on the VCDS forums where people have asked, sorry...

I was hoping it would.
I have  Passat B8 Premium M2016, with VC, where the Needle Swipe coding successfully worked....

Thanks !!!
