Dsg issue/knocking

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

Issue is on a 2009 Skoda superb tdi.

so…when car has warmed up changing from 3rd to 2nd the car jerks ( jolt )

This is when I just coast and let the car brake on its own and downshift.

doesn’t do it if I brake hard tho which is strange.

When I travel over bumps there is a knocking sound too ( could this be connected?

I noticed a leak on the floor right down by the front drivers side mudflap ( coming off bumper )

I thought it was diesel as the top of the filter could be leaking.

or if it was transmission fluid.I’m sure there was brown fluid but that could of been dirt on the road mixed.

im wondering a couple of things..

1.driveshaft seal?

2.dogbone mount?

3. Or a dsg fault :-(

any help is appreciated at this time.

steve

just putting the feelers out there heifer I take it to a garage.

the last one was at 71k I think end it’s on 91k now.

best get it on a ramp i think

Hi Pixels, just had the same diagnosis for my Skoda rapid. How much did a clutch replacement cost? Just put the feelers out with a few Indy's near me to see who has the tooling.

Cheers

Reading this on a phone. So no idea if the OP has a Superb 1.6 TDi so a DQ200 DSG or a 2.0 TDI so a wet clutch DSG.    2009 so assume a 6 speed wet.   If it was a DQ200 service campaign 34F7 covered it   oil changed from synthetic to mineral and a software update  done since early @SDays. You have a DQ200.  Is it the clutch packs they diagnosed on yours. Is the MCU ok?    No idea the age of your car but if after 2012 and before 2015 did 34h5 require being done as and was it done. A software update which was as Service Campaign action  started in 2017.

OP has a CR170, so 6 speed wet clutch.

(You can find out what someone's model is on mobile if you browse to their profile)

I do sometimes look, but not when on a phone and doing other stuff, then others often do not or even think to and just read the posts that do not say what engines or DSG,s they are posting about. Member even post about a vehicle that is not the one that their profile might be showing .

I'm not too sure on what they diagnosed, will open a new post to go into detail, but they found a technical product inspection for 'vibrations of the K2 clutch of the dq200 gearbox' the tpi advised clutcch replacement. I had no codes and I don't think the box itself has been inspected as the symptoms from the tpi matched the symptoms I was having. I think it has had the software mods, but will check again to confirm.

What is your DQ200 fitted to a TSI or a TDI?   Has 34h5 been carried out on your car?     There are fixes cheaper than a main dealer will use if it is not clutches needing changed.  Various posts and threads on that.

E-roottoot, looking at the stickers in the boot it hasn't had 34h5, nor does the Skoda recall site suggest it's required. I thought it would have had something since it's a 2014. Just posted the symptoms on the 'famous dq200 slip' thread if you're interested...Skoda rapid symptoms

The UK VIN Checker did not show '34H5' as a recall action and then when Australia called another RECALL in 2019 covering 2009-2015 it then did appear for some UK cars.

No idea if it did for all that might be part of the Service Campaign.
