Hi guys, I'm about to do my timing chain on my 2.0fsi mk2 Octavia engine this weekend and was wondering if any of you guy/girls knew how many link or pins go between the timing marks on the exhaust to inlet cam?? Cheers for any info.

 

There should be timing marks on them that should line up. If they don't then the chain is stretched.

 

How many miles/KMs does it have? And any signs of rattle?

Car has done 110'000 rattles when warm, and you can hear it when you turn the car off. I know there are timing marks wondering how many chain links between the exhaust and inlet cam timing marks.

All sorted now, lovely quiet engine again. Job took around 2 hours start to finish, biggest pain was trying to get the bolt out of the vvti unit on the end of the cam. f##k it was tight
