Hello,

I get a ticking noise (I believe from the oil pump) during ,morning starts. The noise disappears after the car gets to working temp. 

From checking on Youtube i saw that the issue occurs to additional owners of octavia diesel 1.6 owners but skoda says the noise is fine (according to one of the youtube comments).

 

I want to replace the oil pump after 210K km. What oil pump manufacturers are recommended/considered original?

The price of oil pump here is hilarious so i'm buying it from online retailer (ebay/autodoc/etc) and send it to Israel.

What i would recommend is taking off the oil sump and cleaning the oil pick up tube

Currently taking off the oil sump and cleaning is not on the schedule. 

I prefer to replace the pump. 

Are there any recommended manufacturers for it?

I personally would go for genuine one. Whats your engine code?

BORSEHUNG is a good brand they go for around 140 pound on ebay 

couldn't find the pump on their catalogue. strange.

it seems there is more than one pump model in etka.

You are on the right track. Please share yout next steps, I'm interested as well.

 

Sounds like broken, already 4 years in my car. Once the warranty is over I want to replace the pump as well.

why not replace it under warranty?
