Vibration noise at 1800 RPM - Skoda Superb L&K 2017

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I have relatively new L&K Skoda Superb with only 36,000 KM on the clock.

Full spec: Petrol, 2.0 TSI, 206 KW

I keep getting strange vibration noise around the glove box area. It is not a loose glove box issue, I already checked. I am just wondering if any one else had experienced the same issue and what helped?

The sounds comes on following conditions:

1. Somewhere between 1800 and 2000 RPM.

2. Low to Medium Speeds, sound completely goes away when driving fast on the highway.

On a cold engine, it seems that the sound is even more pronounced, however it doesn't really go away on a hot engine.

Every morning it is like this. It seems to go away gradually later in the day. Also I noticed that if I switch my driver profile from "Normal" to say..."Comfort" or "Eco" the sound also decreases.

Will appreciate your tips/opinions on this.

Thank you so much and have a nice day!

i have it at 1850rpm, most likely it's drone

Be prepared for Skoda to call it a rattle and not be interested in sorting it under warranty.

Sound like typical fuel hose rattle. It is a quite common problem in VAG MQB platform cars.

Mine is behind dash board and ash tray area, had it for 2 years now definitely worse when air con is on. Dealer could not find a problem bet they could now it is out of warranty

Probably not the cause, but worth checking nevertheless (and easy to check). Someone drove into the side of my 18 reg Superb L&K two years ago. After I got the car back from the body shop there was an intermittent rattle and it was driving me nuts. So I sent it back to the body shop. They thought they'd sorted it, gave it back to me, but the issue remained. I sent it back to them again and this time they had it a while. Turned out it was the umbrella in the door causing the issue, which surprised me. But it was down to them as they had to replace the door. So try removing the umbrella's and try again. Like I said, it's probably not that, but easy to check and rule out.

pollen  filter housing cover not on properly, worth a go take your glove box of and go for a drive again and LISTEN.
