Bolero firmware update

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I have a Bolero unit on my '09 Superb Elegance. Where can I download a firmware update for my head unit? There seems to be a lot of information about updating Columbus unit but no so much about Bolero. I believe my unit has the original firmware version. Holding the setup button will not show the firmware version.

This uni can be flashed only with ODIS or Vag Can Pro.

So basically I can't update it by my self with a cd? Bummer.

The reason I'm asking is I upgraded the bluetooth unit and would like to be able to control music with steering wheel buttons or head unit. Currently the head unit is not showing the track that is played via bluetooth. Could this be resolved with VCDS or is it just something that would require replacing the whole unit?

No idea :(

Bolero in my 2014 Superb is displaying track names from Spotify/TuneIn when connected to Samsung S9+ via bluetooth. Also all steering wheel controls work as expected (volume, track skip, source switch).

Not sure how to check which fw version it's running, I did order Carista OBD2 so that might reveal it.

I'm quite certain it's the original firmware from 2009..

What bluetooth module have you fitted?

So hold SETUP for a few seconds and you can see the software version:

Like it says in the original post, this doesn't work on my unit. I've read somewhere that the old firmwares don't support this function.
