Sticky Accelerator Pedal 68 Plate Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi all

I bought a used 68 plate Octavia 1.6 TDI last week. I have notice that the Accelerator pedal is sticky. When I put my foot to the floor, I would stay it gets sticky at about 95% of the way. I can then push it further past the 95 % mark.

I am not sure if this is normal or not on a Octavia. Please see video below. Hopefully if shows it better than I can explain it.

yep, that's normal, got it on my 67 Octavia too. basically all it does is override the eco settings to give you all the beans if/when you need it. Also read on a DSG it'll drop a gear to give you some extra power

Commonly known as kick down.

Yup, it's normal on my manual 1.4Tsi. I usually drive in ECO mode and if I wish some extra oomph, I floor it past the click. Can only actually remember doing that once uphill on the A6 Taddington bypass.
