Dealing with skodauk

Featured Replies

Anybody had any dealings with skoda uk.. I put a complaint in about service received at the dealership I purchased the car. And a list of issues that the dealership have refused to rectify.

Today had a phone call stating there's nothing skodauk can do.. and the franchised dealership (Bristol Street derby) have refused all responsibility of any issues I've raised.

Various badges the paint is falling off.

Acc has constant yellow warning triangles

Headlights were out of alignment

The dealership have ignored every single phone call and email I've sent since leaving the forecourt with the car on the 1st of March.

Your Warranty is with Skoda.  Go to another Skoda authorised / franchise / dealership group to have a Warranty Manager inspect the faults.  It does not need to be to be the supplying Dealership.  Read your Warranty T&C,s.  Tell Skoda UK in writing to get a resolution or communications manager to call you or to write

I've taken it to another dealership who also refused to deal with issues raised. Saying I have to go to selling dealership..

That is a lie by them. Terrible Customer Services which Covid might give them some excuses for.

Really not Simply Clever of  Bristol Street Derby Skoda or the other place you went.

Escalate the matter with Skoda UK and they can find you an Authorised Skoda / VW Group Repairer to have the car examined at and pictures taken and forwarded to them and they can arrange if they want an Area Warranty Manager to view the car.

?

How many miles has the car done to have wear and tear like that on the Sill Plates and the Steering Wheel?

They are lying, warranty work can be done at any dealer and they will be paid by Skoda UK.

I bought my Octavia from a Skoda dealer in Southampton but had warranty work done by the dealer in Barnstaple after moving to Devon.

My kick plate was similar and my sunglasses holder wouldn’t stay in the up position when trying to close. Both were looked at quickly, pictures taken and sent to Skoda with replacements ordered shortly thereafter . Stand your ground

Who sorted your issue. Skoda uk or the dealership themselves.

Skoda uk have shut this investigation.. and insisted I go to the motor ombudsman.

I've tried calling Derby again and they are still not budging.

My local dealership said they would rectify the issues if Derby authorised them to do so..

Business manager as Derby is inviting he will not be budging on rectifying the issues

Skoda UK have to authorise the Warranty Repair / Replacement.

The Dealership is acting as your agent and dealing with Skoda.

Skoda UK is in the wrong here and the Dealership are behaving badly.

Read the T&C's and the exclusions.

Read about making Claims on the Warranty.

I bought the car from a skoda dealer about 40 miles from me as they could do the most competitive deal. However my local skoda dealer is only 2 miles away hence I go to them for servicing and warranty etc. They were even good enough to give me the new parts to fit myself as couldn't get booked in for a while due to covid.

@gavshelton My car is booked in at Bristol Street Derby next week for them to have a look at my infotainment system issues 🤦‍♂️

Not a Mk4 but I had some issues with my mk3 when it was brand new. The supplying dealer went belly up a few months after purchase. When a problem came up with my fuel pump I had to use a dealer further away and received awful service and was fobbed off. I contacted skoda uk to complain, long story short they recommended I take it to another dealer (even further away) and organised for it to be looked into for me there. When this didn't get the result I required I went back to Skoda who again arranged for another inspection, whereby I was able to get a resolution. This was a mechanical issue, not a fit or trim issue which I know can be rotten to try and sort. After my first service issue skoda UK gave me a free service on my other skoda as compensation. Given that, I'm amazed at how unhelpful they have been and wouldn't blame you for doubting the brand

I phine Derby and gave them a piece of my mind. Awaiting a call from them tomorrow from the business manager. See what he has to say.

For the sake of the cost of 3 badges surely they would just replace them.. and I'll be on my way
