kamiq 1.5 tsi dsg monte carlo 2021

Featured Replies

I have just swapped in my Fabia Monte for a Kamiq 1.5 tsi dsg monte carlo 2021, I have not driven

an automatic for many years, so life should get interesting.

It has a lot of bells and whistles any tips on which ones are genuinely useful and which are not.

What sort of petrol does the 1.5 like, I ran my Monte 110 on a super grade, any info welcome.

Hi Gumdrop, I can't speak for the 1.5, but my 1.4 does appear to be slightly more economical with Mov.99 - runs fine on 95 octane, but even with the higher cost, I believe I come out slightly ahead using 99.

I would be interested to hear how your DSG manages when using engine stop-start.

I swapped Fabia vrs for the same as you. Use normal 95oct fuel as no gain using the premium stuff.

@gumdrop Easy enough to buy Sainsbury Super Unleaded 97 Ron or Tesco Momentum 99 at just £2.50 a tank more than their 95 Ron or maybe no more expensive than Esso, BP, Shell etc 95 unleaded and try yourself if you notice differences in behaviour or range from a tankful.

The 110 Monte liked premium better than 95, no real factual basis but just seemed smoother

so I was happier:biggrin:

Thank you I will try that.

While I do fairly short milages 100 to 200 round trips I don't begrudge premium fuel and I like to believe I get something back in better mpg and pulling power.

Had my 1.5DSG Monte Carlo for nearly three months now.  Lovely car !  I only do a 18 mile round trip to work each day and it’s all on a small A road with one 60 MPH some 30 and 40 mph and I am getting 49 MPG and only on regular unleaded.  DSG gearbox is fantastic.  Only thing I’d say negative would be about getting use to take off was a bit lumpy at first LOL !  Hill hold/assist is just perfect.  Oh another negative, is it’s sometimes a little sensitive on hand gesture, unless it’s me pressing something, I end up with Radio One Extra, not really my thing !  Whole family like Monty has he is known.  We have Meteor Grey and everyone loves the colour, Mrs wasn’t too sure but she’s even coming around to it, looks great with all the black accents.

Just looking through the spec. I noticed "tow bar preparation" does this mean the wiring harness is fitted?

the tow ball just needs attaching? or what?

yes, I believe that is the case, wiring harness pre-installed, should just require the hardware (and possibly, coding)

Looking at Karoq and Kamiq in the showroom, I noticed that there was no trim on the under sill,

I was told they were all like that unless running boards were fitted ..... is that right?
