Fabia Alarms

Featured Replies

Just a query....have two fabias parked on the drive, a w reg elegance 1.4 16v, and a VRS. The alarm on the elegance has played up since new, and the dealer has fiddled with it to no end, and other than assuming they messed up the wiring somewhere when they build the car, there really hasn't been a permanent fix. It seems to go off without prediction anytime and anywhere....but very infrequent, so not much of a problem. The alarm just sounds, and the hazard warning lights fail to flash, which is different from when I lock myself in the car and shake about...the alarm sounds, and the hazard lights flash. In effect I have given up trying to sort this...and just apologise to my neighbours....but it is rather infrequent.

.....recently, I have noticed that if I go out and unlock the VRS with the key fob, it sets the alarm off on the elegance. Weird. it hasn't done this before. And even weirder....my father-in-law in his berlingo was round on saturday and he also set the alarm off on the elegance with his key fob while unlocking the berlingo. Tried it a few times.....and seems consistent....just the alarm sounds...no flashing lights. So, am now starting to wonder if everytime I heard the alarm going off, it was because one of my neighbours was locking or unlocking their car with their own key fobs.....

Has anyone else experienced this?

Get the remotes re sync'd and it should stop.

VAG COM or dealer equipment.

i know its not a skoda but had a mazda6 in at work a couple of times with the alarm going off , couldn't fault it but mazda said change the front and rear sensors ,which i did , customer goes away , alarm still going off in middle of night etc , wasn't until i saw it with my own eyes that we found out what was happening , someone unlocked the focus next to the maz6 and alarm went off , obviously picking up the remote key signal , alarm sensors changed to a totally different set up , now ok
