Featured Replies

I am looking for Car insurance for my Fabia VRs (2005) i am currently with Tesco who quoted me

adrian flux, the cost could have been £800 remember now adays he/she u rolled into prob got whip lash and off work to 3weeks etc etc. but adrian flux. iam 20yrs old and pay about 1300-1400 for a lowered vrs with 3yr ncb so 1500 isnt really that bad.

Think its just a case of ringing round to see who gives the best price to suit your circumstances.

If you refresh the page a few times, you should see a banner ad for Chris Knott - one of the site partners. Mention Briskoda and they have some offers.

try bell.co.uk my brother has 0 NCB and they insured him on a 1.8 16V clio for £800 his first car which is well good IMO

I think Chris knott requires you to be at least 25 years old...unfortunately.

Being 20 with 3yrs ncd & no points, for me the quotes i got for 1.1 corsa's and other small engined cars the quotes came at about £900.

These quotes were based on new cars.

So i went for a new furby vrs and pay bout £1400 worth the money in my eyes.

Take in mined i payed 2k for a 4yr old pug 106 when i first started driving so anything lower than that and iam happy.

And without being funny mchute if it was such a small scratch why didnt you just pay out of your pocket???

Also if you've got quotes at £1500 with 0 ncb and 3points hows that make me feel,

Iam 'safer' than you and i only pay £100 less than some one who has 3points and 0 ncb.

I think the fact is insureance is well... **** and complete bull. The old arguement of if someone passed there test at 30yrs old they will more than likely pay well under the 1k mark with 0years experiance over say a 20yr old with 3yrs experiance on say a Furby VRS.

How is that fair ???

3 f's jnr is only 20 with 1 year NCB. Insurance for his 06 plate Fabia vRS

I think insurance companys must just make up the prices, i'm 27 been driving for 10 years and have full NCB my previous car was a Fiat Bravo 1.8 (group 8) 12 months insurance without 3 points £520 - my new car 53 octy vrs (group 16) 12 months insurance with 3 points £560 wheres the sense in that?????? i was once quoted £1400 for my old Corsa GSi but that was with 9 points :D

give these a try, they allow you to declare mods, pay as you go and all sorts of other things, I have my bike insurance with them and they came in

When I came to the UK I had no NCB, new license, and a Ford Fiesta 1.1 LX that was worth 500 quid. Insurance was 2k - and I was below 25 yes. AND it was third party etc only.

Now I'm paying nearly 2 grand insurance a year, I've got protected NCB, > 25, full UK photo license with 3 points (made no diff, 6+ would make a diff though), a few tweaks to my car though. My problem now is the 40k annual mileage, combined with Europe-wide all-year-round insurance for business use. Shame but at least the extra tweaks to the car won't make a big relative difference on the insurance cost any longer.

Believe me i would have!!! i offered to pay and he agreed 2 weeks later (after the xmas hols i got a letter from his solicitor saying he is going through the insurance and QUOTE: Doesnt yet know whether he has personal injuries!!!

I called Tesco to find out the cost of the damage bear in mind i literally rolled into the car at maybe a top speed of 2mph, there is no damage what so ever to my car....

My renewal's just come through from NFU, and they want just shy of £800. I'm 32, have full no claims bonus (although I have an - as yet unrecovered - theft claim against me).

With them historically because I've had Land Rover's in the past (until the last one got nicked whilst in someone else's care).

I've tried loads of different companies so far since getting the Octy, and most come in somewhere between 500 and 700, so I'll be moving.

Be aware that many companies are just "retailers" of insurance. Many use UKI, and some use Churchill as the broker, but rebrand the insurance to have their own name on. I think Sainsbury's are the same as egg.

I'll update with some quotes once they actually come through!

Cheers

Ben

it still amaze me how different quotes can be. last time I had prices from £600 to £3k yes £3k

I just wonder where some of them get the quotes from. I suspect that some give daft prices beucase they do not want the business!

it might be worth trying a broker to see what they can do

Im sure it would be worth trying Admiral again. Im 21 and I started a policy with them last year on my Fabia Vrs for

adrian, it's not just quick/nice cars that make you fork out. SWSBO just passed her test, low rated postcode limited mileage on a metro valued at

another thing to note, dont trust the online quote, i got a quote from Hastings Direct online of

Don't forget the governments cut of that in insurance tax too.
