Boot protection.

Featured Replies

I've had my vRS estate almost a week now and am becoming more frustrated as I try to get boot protection from my dog.

I've swapped from a Kodiaq for which I had a hatchbag and a travall dog guard to stop my Giant Schnauzer pup from climbing through to

the back seats. Neither of those companies, or any others it appears, do products for the mk4 Octavia.

Had anyone found anything designed for this model as I don't really want to go the cheap 'one size fits all' Halfords dog guard route.

Many thanks.

Hi, I had the shame issue.  And I contacted the likes of Titan, Hatchbag and Rhino covers.  Titan said earliest May, whilst Rhino said they could one now.  Nothing from Hatchbag.   As for the dog guard, I ended up buying a Halfords universal one, which actually fitted quite well (I wanted the travall one).  The only issue is that it leaves an indentation on the back of the headrest and seat where it clamps.  Titan told me it was COVID impacting them getting templating the car.

There is another thread on this forum where an owner of a Mk3 confirmed the Mk3 hatchbag seemed to fit okay.

I'm am curious, as I'm having trouble with my Mk4 and speaking to the dealer, one option I'm looking at is going to a Kodiaq (so the reverse of what you have done).  How does the practicality side of things compare between the two?   i.e boot size...They'll be very different cars to drive I imagine.

I ordered one from Rhino only to be told a couple of days later that they don’t do one yet for the mk4

Still waiting for my car,we are changing how to transport the dog.a giant schnauzer(our 4th one)we are going for the seat covers in the back that loops over the back and front head rest.holes are cut to allow for a seat belt attachment for him.going to have to build some thing to bare his weight48kilos)in the rear foot wells.the cover protect the seats doors etc.we travel a lot and found on a hot day the air con does not cool him down in the rear of estate car.
