Aux Belt noise

Featured Replies

Just thought I would ask the question to see what the consensus was.

We have a couple of Skoda Octavias, one is a MK3 2014 and the other a MK2 2012 Scout.

There was a noise from the Aux Belt and having had that problem before on a different vehicle with the same engine we knew it was the Aux Belt Tensioner.

I changed it myself and job went as usual, though after a day or so the noise returned, I bought the parts from Euro Car Parts which have usually been spot on.

But I am now thinking it might just be the cheap pattern parts that are the issue and to source the parts from Skoda themselves and do the job again.

I would like to add that I would like to have a serious conversation with the individual that designed the way the tensioner mounts to this engine, they were defo having a bad day!

Thanks for any hints, tips or info!

You didn't ask a question and are you going to give more details or just have everyone guessing what your problem is?

I would have edited my post but can’t seem to find an option to do that.
