Octavia mk3 17" Steel wheels and trims

Featured Replies

Hi have damaged another alloy due to pot holes now thinking of getting set of full size steel wheels if poss currently on 225 45 17 looking for help if there are genuine ones available or aftermarket

Have a look in the Briskoda Parts for sale.   With steel wheels you still need to avoid potholes if you see them and not use tyre walls for touch parking.

Not a weegie but pass through once or twice every week and have done for 20 years now.   Only had blow outs near Dunblane where the road often opens up often in the outside lane.

Well  I thought this forum was for helping fellow skoda owners out like 99.9% of the replys I have recieved in the past you seem to like to be sarky and as you have said driving thru Glasgow twice a week for last 20 years I'm sure u will have seen a decline In the conditions of the road surface I know I have in my last 15 yrs as a glasgow cabbie

Always worth a look in the Briskoda for sales to see if anyone might be selling suitable winter wheels they no longer need.

Not sure if there are any OE 17" steels. At a guess, you'd need:

- 7,0J x 17"

- ET49

- 5x112 PCD

- 57.1mm centre bore

That'll match a Trius alloy which was a stock option for the MK3 with 225/45 R17's fitted, they look like this: https://eshop.skoda-auto.sk/en_SK/alloy-wheel-trius-17-for-octavia-iii/p/5E0071497L+8Z8

You might need to drop to 16's if you want a few more options... It'll depend on your front brakes if they'll fit :)

mytyres are listing Alcar steel rims for the Kodiaq. They will fit the Octavia MK3, but you would need 205/50R17 tyres due to the ET38 offset. Maybe go for 16" steel rims instead. 205/55R16 tyres will be better at absorbing the potholes without damaging the rim or tyre.

I changed my 17" alloys for 16" steels with all seasons tyres, much more comfortable on bad roads, no difference in performance that I can tell.
