Praise for a change

Featured Replies

Well I'm still having the odd minor software bug but thought I'd offer some praise for the mk4 vrs as I know the forum is browsed by prospective buyers and it certainly isn't all bad.

I'm now just short of 3k miles and enjoyed a spirited drive this evening in sports mode and I must say the vrs tsi is a peach of a motor. Having driven most of the hot hatches on the market I can also say it feels stronger than 245bhp. TCS off and you can feel the diff doing its best however do think it's limited somewhat by the factory supplied tyres. I will be going Michelin Ps4 when the time comes to replace.

Anyway I'm very impressed with her and the dsg box. I can do the routine boring commute and take the kids out in comfort and safety but also exploit the chassis and power train when alone in a progressive and more importantly safe manner. Enjoy these cars folks . I'm lucky to be able to own one

Which tyres does yours have? Mine is on Goodyears.

Exactly the Q i was going to ask. I too have GoodY's and they are on par with PS4s. The best tires backed by reviews are PS4S , Conti 6 and the Goody super sport's. If you have Bridgestone , i get your point or Pirelli. Unless you track day, the top 3 will be indistinguishable on a spirited drive to non pro tire reviewers.

I watch this guys reviews

For the midrange guys , i found the Falken FK510 to be a great tire, although the price is now near the top 3.

Bridgestone on mine from Factory

What can I say other than to confirm/agree everything @parsec82 said above. English is not my native language so I can't put together a such nice overview of the car.

I have put a bit over 6000 km on the car and I enjoy every bit of it. I did have a couple of sw glitches in the 5 months of the ownership but nothing major.

Sorry @parsey83 for the wrong quote. Just realized now.
