Hi All, as per the title... Anyone tried retrofitting Octavia IV steering wheel (2 spokes design) onto Octavia 3 Facelift model? DSG model.

In theory (and depending on how new your MK3 FL car is), it could be a swap and replace.  Remember that you will need to disarm the airbag system before going anywhere near the steering wheel.  The BCM must be similar functioned, although I've noticed that a number of the functions are slightly different, so your results may not be as expected.

 

Its an interesting project.  Why (just out of interest) do you want to change it over?

It's not plug and play, various buttons won't work I'm afraid.

Everything will work, except for CANCEL/ESC button and Phone/VIEW button. Tested in Fabia 3 FL and my Octavia 3.

This convertor got back functions of mentioned two buttons. I already tried to contacted him to buy his solution/final product, because without possibility to use CANCEL/ESC button in cars without virtual cockpit, you are not able to switch between the screens and for those with virtual cockpit, you can't change the design view.

hi, in my octavia mk3 style have not hot steering wheel. How can activate it?  it will works plug and play?

 

so all will works but not esc/cancel? Where can biu this solutions?

If you don't have virtual cockpit (Active info display), you also won't be able to switch between Phone, Navigation, Car info etc. in your cluster.

Heated steering Wheel requires different Steering column with second front connector, different connector to the Steering column unit, pin position changes, wire new power for the steering Wheel and coding

Definitely not plug and play for Heated Steering Wheel.

Does anybody manage to successfully retrofit the Octavia 4 steering wheel on any Octavia 3 car? Does anybody know a place where to buy the LIN convertor OR get in touch with the Russian guy?

I built my own module which is freely configurable. I also deactivated the start/stop function. Material costs were €15-20.
