Bolero Change.

Featured Replies

Hello,

2013 I have an Octavia vehicle without Bluetooth, I have a Bolero, I want to switch to Amundsen. I found a display from the 2016 style pack and an amundsen as a unit. There is no microphone in the vehicle, will the microphone and usb change? Thanks in advance for Apple car play.

You will need to fit and wire Mic if not fitted, it’s in the roof console by interior lights and it wires to Pin 1 and Pin 7 in the blue plug.

So will Amundsen work correctly? Will Carplay work? and where do we connect the GPS Antenna?

Takılı değilse, Mic'i takmanız ve bağlamanız gerekecektir, tavan konsolunda iç ışıklarla bulunur ve mavi fişteki Pin 1 ve Pin 7'ye kablolar bağlar.

@SashaGrace

I will buy it if it works on my system.

You'll need to add a GPS antenna, it'll connect to the unit that's in the glovebox. You can either use an aftermarket GPS puck or use a OEM sharkfin with an extension wire.

If you just fit an Amundsen, nothing will work... You need to:

- have component protection sorted

- FEC/SWaP codes added

- the headunit correctly coded for your car

- possibly other modules coded

- I think you also need to replace the USB socket for CarPlay/AndroidAuto too

Just to point out, I think the part number you've linked (5E0035864A) is a MIB1 unit and might not support CarPlay.  I think you'll need a MIB2 unit.

If you haven't bought anything, I'd suggest contacting @pab567 as he supplies units and knows exactly what needs doing

Good luck.

No, you need 5Q0 035 864A

Hmm,The seller had said he had a smart connection. Thanks

pretty sure 5E0035864A (MIB1) does not support smartlink. For the smartlink you need to get MIB2 (5Q0035874A) and adapt it to your car.

@Yusef If I was a gambling man I'd place my money on @SashaGrace anyway of the week. This lady knows her product and what will and won't work.

100% it will NOT, it's what I have in my Octavia and Smartlink doesn't work and cannot be enabled.
